But with turning 40 and all I went on a journey to see what I could find that I have kept around.<br /><br />Here is the actual outfit worn in the picture above. Both are from 1972 when I was 1 year old. The picture was taken after my first haircut (yes I had hair!)... the outfit doesn't fit anymore but never fear, I am already working on an adult version.<br /><p> <br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDVp0qzQQrrDoDOVvw4G7OGBwrnruEOI0FR5ZOfbwb6AiiHGOn1cWGmgIpzJK3czwfWkVFWd7PU8x0iifqDod4FqnsbGbWIowK8j_NM4x2CBR-Ska7gFCeEG_x25FP1lRm7G-MJ_sCcNIo/s1600/photo3.JPG"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 195px; height: 146px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhDVp0qzQQrrDoDOVvw4G7OGBwrnruEOI0FR5ZOfbwb6AiiHGOn1cWGmgIpzJK3czwfWkVFWd7PU8x0iifqDod4FqnsbGbWIowK8j_NM4x2CBR-Ska7gFCeEG_x25FP1lRm7G-MJ_sCcNIo/s400/photo3.JPG" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5604911878308363442" border="0" /></a>The shoes worn in the picture were bronzed and put on a board with a little bronze plaque with the words: Robert Donald, 1971, Vancouver Wash. For those who are local Vancouver people.. it was purchased from a little baby shop down on Grand Avenue.. right where the hill starts to head down to the Columbia River... My Little Reggie Bear<br /><br /><div style="text-align: left;">I have not talked much about his condition for a while because it has been getting worse. It's a miracle he made it this far. Without the help of my family, specifically my mother, he would not be here. He required home cooked food and to be fed six small meals a day. This meant Reggie could not be left alone for more than three hours at a time..<br /><br />A very special thank you to my mom for all her hard work and dedication, giving us all extra time with him.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://www.virtwebprod.com/reggie/15.jpg"><img style="float: left; margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; cursor: pointer; width: 273px; height: 191px;" src="http://www.virtwebprod.com/reggie/15.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Reggie was in fact a gift from my longtime friend Ryan Brown. He actually came up with the name... Reggie was named after my favorite musician of all time, Sir Reginald Kenneth Dwight (Elton John.) It just made sense, Reggie was black & white like a piano and something I could love as much as Elton himself. To date, Reggie is the best present I ever received.<br /><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Reggie4523: For the last almost 18 years my online identity has been Reggie4523. AOL Chat, IM, XBOX Live Gamertag, Over the years people would see the handle and guess at what its meaning was. It was a special meaning just for me.. I got Reggie April 5 and I was 23...(ok.. i was 22 but turned 23 in May).. So that's what Reggie4523 is all about.<br /><br />So my friends.. If he ever made you smile or gave you a chuckle, please take a moment and remember him with me today. Tiffany H., please give Wally a special goodbye from Reggie.. They were best of buds.<br /><br />It was not easy to make the decision to let him go but it is best for both of us.<br /></div></div><br />Rest In Peace Little Guy, I love you very much.<br /><br />Some Photos I threw together<br /><div align="left"><a rel="lightbox[reggie]"title="Did you really leave me inside?" href="http://www.virtwebprod.com/reggie/19.jpg"><img style="display: block; The people who know me best understand that this is my favorite place in the whole world. This decision has not been an easy one to make.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2282/2477166510_d0d14a505a_b.jpg"><img style="cursor: pointer; width: 400px; height: 224px;" src="http://farm3.static.flickr.com/2282/2477166510_d0d14a505a_b.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div>When life calls for change we can not resist but instead put our best-foot forward while knowing the whole time, that with change can come a bounty of great things.<br /><br />I will be heading back to Vancouver, Washington to spend some long overdue time with my family. I have two of the most amazing parents in the world. I have spent most of the last 15-years traveling around for my career in television and look forward to being able to spend more time with them.<br /><br />I hope to spend some time with old friends and as always, make new ones. I have a 20-year high school reunion in August and it will be great to see everyone and hear how their lives are going.<br /><br />The extra time I've had has afforded me the luxury to get back in touch with my one true love... music. I have ideas and projects in the works already with plans to expand at a breaking news pace. Looking back it's hard to believe that with all the music scholarships I had on the table, I somehow wound up working in broadcasting. I am thankful for this time I've had to rekindle a flame I will not let the pilot light go out on ever again.<br /><br />So to my Seattle friends I say goodbye for now. If you should need me I am only three hours away. You know how to reach me and I hope to be back soon.<br /><br />To my Vancouver/Portland friends, look out because I am coming home!<br /><br />T-Minus 5 days and counting till I leave Seattle.<br /><br /><b>Playing For Change: Song Around the World "Don't Worry"</b><br /><br /><object height="344" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/tAjFnJuk1Aw&hl=en&fs=1&"><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/tAjFnJuk1Aw&hl=en&fs=1&" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" height="344" width="425"></embed></object>Virtual Producer<br>Robert Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06547924039219199136noreply@blogger.com3tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820642796827494413.post-57905062588110867772008-12-03T21:37:00.001-08:002008-12-03T22:24:51.744-08:00A New Life Begins...<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrfHZUB9R7nzfdL6VDLdLv8mowkePopk3_ov7ksFjHpU3j99Rpl55Lf8jq6KVA0gE0CDZP0E91evL9aOpGetupjtx0z5sbxGV8U4CKeBedJrMPvZitOzsdC4ybJYuwh22bNmopDV_UXFhW/s1600-h/bye_tribune.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 422px; height: 316px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgrfHZUB9R7nzfdL6VDLdLv8mowkePopk3_ov7ksFjHpU3j99Rpl55Lf8jq6KVA0gE0CDZP0E91evL9aOpGetupjtx0z5sbxGV8U4CKeBedJrMPvZitOzsdC4ybJYuwh22bNmopDV_UXFhW/s320/bye_tribune.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5275806722072422194" border="0" /></a>Today was a very hard one for me. I went through them on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Facebook</span></span> and enjoyed seeing the Seattle icons I have grown to love over the past 8 years living here.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_867113_4101.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 124px; height: 164px;" src="http://photos-b.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_867113_4101.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>It was the next day when I saw these incredible images full of vibrant colors. Fall is the most beautiful season here in the pacific northwest! The evergreen trees stay green as all the leaves on the trees surrounding them transform creating a visual symphony of colors that words could not describe.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_867096_1792.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 134px; height: 178px;" src="http://photos-a.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_867096_1792.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>When I first clicked on the images I asked Amy where she had taken them. Imagine my surprise to learn she had merely stepped out the front door of my own home and snapped shots which should have looked familiar to me.<br /><br />This whole experience has forced me to recognize that I have lost my passion for some of the simple things in life. We got up early this morning and hit the local Starbucks. Amy had hot chocolate and I had Americano. We headed downtown and went up in the Space Needle, the <a href="http://www.empsfm.org/" target="_blank">EMP (Experience Music Project)</a> and <a href="http://www.empsfm.org/aboutEMPSFM/index.asp" target="_blank">Science Fiction Museum</a>. We headed to meet up with Reid to grab a bite of lunch at the Deluxe on Broadway (Capital Hill.)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_861922_3013.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 0pt 10px 10px; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 243px; height: 180px;" src="http://photos-c.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_861922_3013.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>After lunch Reid decided he had a craving for S'mores. You may be asking yourself, "S'mores in a condo?" The building has a roof deck with a beautiful view of downtown Seattle. I also learned that it has a mobile fire pit up there. Reid had cedar kindling and he started the fire.<br /><br />Once we got some nice coals the roasting of the marshmallows began.<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_861949_3616.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 219px; height: 164px;" src="http://photos-f.ak.fbcdn.net/photos-ak-snc1/v376/66/46/619279221/n619279221_861949_3616.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a> I must admit I've never had S'mores on top of a building in downtown Seattle before. There is a board inside the security door at work where all the photos of employees are displayed. This was Jeff's photo from that board. I got a picture of it before they took it down when he left the station about five years back.<br /><br />Shortly after we stopped working together I moved in with him for a while. I have many good memories of backyard BBQ with friends. I got to know his family, they are a wonderful group of good people with big hearts.<br /><br />Jeff died two days before his 33rd birthday. He was my friend and I will miss him very much. I am thankful for our friend Karl who went with me to his funeral. Jeff and Karl would both tell many stories about the week they spent together on vacation in Mexico.<br /><br />Jeff and I would spend countless hours sitting at our computers in his house and comparing our music libraries. This is the memory that stands out most and I will treasure it forever. We would sit and share stories about the music as we listened, explaining the whole time why each specific song had impact on our life.<br /><br />At the funeral they played: Queen "Who Wants To Live Forever" It was not listed on the program as a selection but I am glad they used this song, he liked it a lot.<br /><div><div class="boxMessage"><p><br /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/OgK_keIJq-4&hl=" fs="1" width="425" height="344" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowfullscreen="true"></embed><br /></p><p><br /></p><p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><span style="FONT-WEIGHT: bold;font-size:180%;" >Goodbye my friend, rest in peace.</span></p><p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><br /></p><p style="TEXT-ALIGN: center"><br /></p></div></div>Virtual Producer<br>Robert Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06547924039219199136noreply@blogger.com4tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820642796827494413.post-63434595705812057452008-10-15T20:32:00.000-07:002008-10-15T23:29:45.176-07:00Ever Receive A Gift & Immediately Wiki It?<a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://profile.ak.facebook.com/v223/597/109/n707768872_277.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 150px; height: 150px;" src="http://profile.ak.facebook.com/v223/597/109/n707768872_277.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>My 'partner in crime' at work is Christine Umayam. Together Christine and I launched the three station sites on the new platform I talked about in an earlier post. We did this in a week and it was an incredible amount of work. We locked ourselves up in an office with no windows and no outside communication for entire days. Although at this point we had worked together for better part of a year, this is when I got to know Christine.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fa/Barrel_man_in_barrel.jpg/180px-Barrel_man_in_barrel.jpg"><img style="margin: 5pt 10px 10px 5pt; float: right; cursor: pointer; width: 140px; height: 203px;" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/f/fa/Barrel_man_in_barrel.jpg/180px-Barrel_man_in_barrel.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Recently Christine found herself traveling to the Philippines. I will tell you more about why in just a bit. She was gone for three weeks and has been back a few weeks now.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ee/Barrel_man_revealed.jpg/180px-Barrel_man_revealed.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 5pt 10px 10px; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 122px; height: 164px;" src="http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/thumb/e/ee/Barrel_man_revealed.jpg/180px-Barrel_man_revealed.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Today she pulls me aside and says "I brought you back a surprise from my trip." So we step outside and she hands me this small carved wooden figure with a barrel around it. She tells me that everyone has one over there. She says just take the barrel off! Not wanting to break it, I was being careful. That is not how this works.. You have to just grab it and yank it off, which is what she did when she grabbed it from my hands. Well, you can see the pictures so I will not explain what happens when you do this.<br /><br />Can you imagine the look on my face? I said "Thanks Christine?"<br /><br />We both had a laugh and parted ways to continue our evening.<br /><br />I go to a computer and, as best I can, describe my new treasure to Google. Of course there is a <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barrel_man" target="_blank">Wikipedia page dedicated to Barrel Man.</a><br /><br />I love my gift, thank you Christine. :-)<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjgbaJnGtV4LuH5g_uD_gVcMJ-BtpLgHg1yootr6XByVleD_0dDa945qxgLjWsU7UqpiwBIFXj_OMl8gHUrxv3k6DT3iz9xBuGYLOgn8ABxhBfCJAA6Jkw-S0HH3oxFC5BaCoERyGcO222/s1600-h/child_united.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 252px; height: 183px;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhjgbaJnGtV4LuH5g_uD_gVcMJ-BtpLgHg1yootr6XByVleD_0dDa945qxgLjWsU7UqpiwBIFXj_OMl8gHUrxv3k6DT3iz9xBuGYLOgn8ABxhBfCJAA6Jkw-S0HH3oxFC5BaCoERyGcO222/s320/child_united.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5257628107568836162" border="0" /></a>Christine was in the Philippines doing work for her organization, Child United. I got out of the shower and while grabbing a tee-shirt noticed that I had a message on my phone. This usually means that some fire in the newsroom I work in needs to be put out or something is broke. As I picked up the phone I noticed that the message was from my good friend Amy <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">Mowery</span>!<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://profile.ak.facebook.com/v222/698/116/n619279221_9155.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 181px; height: 214px;" src="http://profile.ak.facebook.com/v222/698/116/n619279221_9155.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a><span style="font-size:130%;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">Amy </span></span><span style="font-weight: bold;font-size:130%;" class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1" >Mowery</span><br />I met Amy about eight years ago. She started working for Tribune Company about a month before I did. A Chicago native, she was at <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">WGN</span>-TV while I was in Dallas at <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">KDAF</span>-TV. Over the years Amy and I formed a friendship that felt like the ones I have had for a lifetime. Through working on projects together and talking on the phone I learned that Amy and I shared passions in similar areas... Internet, TV, Entertainment, Music, Arts..etc..etc..<br /><br />Amy hit a point a year ago when she wanted to explore other options in her career. Amy left Tribune and started doing her own thing, taking on clients, freelancing and other <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">internet</span> guru stuff. At first I feared we may lose touch. At my work we use AOL Instant <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">Messenger</span> to communicate with other producers in other markets. Basically, Amy and I were online everyday together for seven years.<br /><br /><span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_6">Jeez</span>.. I really '<span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_7">buried</span> the lead' on this one....<br /><br />So the message was from Amy and she was telling me that she is coming to see me! I am so excited to see her. She will visit me Halloween weekend! What a fantastic surprise! I saw Amy recently when I was in Chicago on business but this will be the first time she comes to Seattle to see me. I have so much planning to do now...<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_8">YAY</span>!<br /><br />Some of the best blessings in my life have names :-) Tiffany, Amy, Cathy and <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_9">Ile</span><br /><br />I will tell you more about them soon...Virtual Producer<br>Robert Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06547924039219199136noreply@blogger.com1tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820642796827494413.post-54146491893663412152008-10-09T21:06:00.000-07:002008-10-10T02:07:05.647-07:00Don't Click It!I have watched the web change over the years and I love thinking about ways to present a new web experience to site visitors/viewers.<br /><br />My first experiences (age 13) on the <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1"><span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">Internet</span></span> were not graphical ones. It was in a day when we sat at terminals and used text based browsers like Lynx to 'surf the web'. We were there for the information. We wanted to read articles on <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">Litservs</span></span> and we sent BOTS to travel the electronic lines and deliver us back loads of information from libraries and various government agencies. I recall the days when I was running a single line BBS (Bulletin Board System.) It's exactly what it sounds like, only one user at a time logged in and the network did not communicate with any other machines.<br /><br />Today it is all about color and layout. Entire studies are done using eye-tracking technology to determine where a users eye goes first on a page, where did they click, scan left to right or right to left? We create templates with little compartments where content lives based on many variables.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSPDw4HHyEI0LwNwAJKFb-7QNay9aaY6MDJMyY1eFfPOF06K6aiNewjLE4t_PJ7qDAHBCksAcQsnMEjhf4w5-MLx9FJfY5Pr-reluWco3JtZYrFvgZyaQv-1MKzE7uD1PQDdg7CZoiLkUz/s1600-h/dontclick.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer;" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiSPDw4HHyEI0LwNwAJKFb-7QNay9aaY6MDJMyY1eFfPOF06K6aiNewjLE4t_PJ7qDAHBCksAcQsnMEjhf4w5-MLx9FJfY5Pr-reluWco3JtZYrFvgZyaQv-1MKzE7uD1PQDdg7CZoiLkUz/s320/dontclick.jpg" alt="" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5255377841596226466" border="0" /></a>Tonight I found myself on this website: <a href="http://www.dontclick.it/" target="_blank">www.dontclick.it</a><br /><br />At first I was irritated, navigating an entire site and not clicking. As my mind wrapped itself around the concept and the techniques of mousing without my finger poised to click...well the concept grew on me. I felt like I was having to pay more attention to what was on the page and where my mouse was. This is a huge <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">positive</span> when you are addressing user engagement.<br /><br />Check out the site and let me know what you think. I am curious to hear your thoughts on this experience.<br /><br /><br />I pose the question, "Can you imagine an <span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4"><span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">internet</span></span> without clicking?"Virtual Producer<br>Robert Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06547924039219199136noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820642796827494413.post-6735431376704772042008-09-26T19:11:00.000-07:002008-09-26T21:37:29.838-07:00Back To The BLOG!I have been away for a while and it is way past time for me to start doing a daily update. What have I been doing you may ask?<br /><br />Work has been taking all of my time lately. I had to move content from an old site and into a content management tool (for the geeks out there we moved to a .NET environment.) You can see the new sites here:<br /><a href="http://www.q13fox.com/" target="_blank">http://www.q13fox.com</a><br /><a href="http://www.myq2.com/" target="_blank">http://www.myq2.com</a><br /><a href="http://www.portlands32.com/" target="_blank">http://www.portlands32.com</a><br />The Portland site was just taken over by a very talented (local in Portland) graphic designer/internet guru and my new friend Natalie Williams. She owns the sharp look of that site in its current form.<br /><br />It was a BIG project and there will be many changes and improvements in the coming months. That's my excuse for not blogging for the last 4 months.<br /><br /><a onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}" href="http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-snc1/v311/22/61/664315848/n664315848_1288961_8371.jpg"><img style="margin: 0pt 10px 10px 0pt; float: left; cursor: pointer; width: 228px; height: 171px;" src="http://photos-b.ak.facebook.com/photos-ak-snc1/v311/22/61/664315848/n664315848_1288961_8371.jpg" alt="" border="0" /></a>Tiffany came to see me for a quick visit two weeks ago and it was <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">awesome</span>! I wish she could have stayed longer. We went and watched a hockey game, had good food and great conversation. We saw our dear friend Reid and shared many old memories over a quick lunch. I could count on one hand the number of friends I talk to that I knew in childhood but Tiffany is for sure one of those gems. I wish she lived closer so we could spend time together more often. <a href="http://bigwallydog.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">More on Tiffany over at DA BLOG!</a><br /><br />My goal is to post one cool link with every entry. If you put down in writing exactly what you are all about and then are only matched with people who have also set what they want... it's too rigid... I think I am missing out on a lot of people who would appriciate me. I have decided that meeting someone the old fashioned way may be best.. The last two months just seem to blur together for me. Work has been keeping me very busy. I launched the new frontpage <a href="http://www.q13fox.com/">http://www.q13fox.com/</a>. Being a TV station webmaster is getting old (it's been almost 15 years now in broadcastng.) My new year's resolution is to tackle my job with renewed interest.<br /><br />I expect rain here but instead the last few days have been sunny during the day and cold at nght. Now there is snow in the weekend forecast :-( This is a bummer because my friend Cathy is movng this weekend. Labor is booked, truck is rented, leases to be signed Thursday.. No stoppng now.. wi sh us luck. It's not me who can't drive in snow/ice (I was born in this state) it's the other drivers that make it bad to drive in snow/ice here.<br /><br />So short entry for tonight.. I will have more to say in upcoming updates Here's a tease<br /><br />"Wednesday: Find out how many dating sites I signed up for. Will I throw in the towell on love and write off men? Tomorrow on 'Making Media, The Virtual Producer"<br /><br />;-) Night<br /><br />Song of the day:<br />Richard marx-Satisfied<br /><br /><br /><object height="355" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fmj7gX2yDUI&rel=1"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><br /><br /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Fmj7gX2yDUI&rel=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="355"></embed></object>Virtual Producer<br>Robert Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06547924039219199136noreply@blogger.com2tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2820642796827494413.post-15761906207188771512007-12-03T15:08:00.000-08:002007-12-03T15:15:55.575-08:00The Rain Brings Floods To Washington State<div align="center">Our Governor has proclaimed a state of emergency now.<br /><br />Here are some of the images viewers have sent in to the TV station.<br /><br /><strong>Whittington Tile and Stone is about to float away since the river behind our building has become part of the bay!!! Although I live in Washington State in Seattle, I was born in this little town called Vancouver, Washington. It's not so little anymore. I have been away for almost 8 years. I have come home for short visits now and then but I am amazed at the growth this city has seen.<br /><br />I was born here and didn't leave this town till I was 27 years old. It's nice to have Portland right across the Columbia River.<br /><br />27 years is along time to live in one place and I have a lot of mixed memories of this town. It's always an emotional <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_0">roller</span> coaster when I come to visit. I always have a reason to visit as long as my parents continue to live here.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX5cUjfi9zHwr6OBiOooxiLQihKHUC52aZE7F1I_Rco19yaI4qvuScfzJ6QXiGvQTAMQkA_jqKGD8p0iNnfPfwRB-ZyHQZw2UPuuLzqJUaZcKX4ldhfove1tIFaG9hdOkY8KAr3ILGGER8/s1600-h/DSC00830.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5112893543633350018" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 0px 10px 10px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhX5cUjfi9zHwr6OBiOooxiLQihKHUC52aZE7F1I_Rco19yaI4qvuScfzJ6QXiGvQTAMQkA_jqKGD8p0iNnfPfwRB-ZyHQZw2UPuuLzqJUaZcKX4ldhfove1tIFaG9hdOkY8KAr3ILGGER8/s200/DSC00830.JPG" border="0" /></a>I love that <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_1">every night</span> before bed my 73 year old mother plays a couple of games of <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_2">solitaire</span> at the dining room table.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGizsvb8p8ZXJcQfjC4-yRQVDZkNJPnyq9TWS6I60Pa4gcM431oze9hpBaAS-jRZ-sSLRfhu4PoHJN5_auXVnWvs82NTs30Sb-3a6zYoPMlXEPb85YvStvzQXSxC0WvTA9AkTtDtWCx85P/s1600-h/DSC00833.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5112894196468379026" style="FLOAT: left; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiGizsvb8p8ZXJcQfjC4-yRQVDZkNJPnyq9TWS6I60Pa4gcM431oze9hpBaAS-jRZ-sSLRfhu4PoHJN5_auXVnWvs82NTs30Sb-3a6zYoPMlXEPb85YvStvzQXSxC0WvTA9AkTtDtWCx85P/s200/DSC00833.JPG" border="0" /></a> I love that my dad finds solace in a room a lot like one that I work in when I am at home, <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_3">surrounded</span> by computers at all times. Just look at this picture of my 72 year old father working on dual platforms (mac/<span class="blsp-spelling-error" id="SPELLING_ERROR_4">pc</span>!) I guess we know where I get my knack for computers.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiyPqTAR6h058eY8wH46seNabgDWVjCHjSTL3muGYLAwtFVaHVvNy6Kla-Gpys4da7pc7ojMdRec3Q2BmfyrM0plCowuBlZG5cs6eAYbozjWxux5xDTmVTLLQqnSlkBjq2TPGC4FKEVaR8/s1600-h/DSC00824.JPG"><img id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5112895175720922530" style="FLOAT: right; MARGIN: 0px 10px 10px 0px; CURSOR: hand" alt="" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiiyPqTAR6h058eY8wH46seNabgDWVjCHjSTL3muGYLAwtFVaHVvNy6Kla-Gpys4da7pc7ojMdRec3Q2BmfyrM0plCowuBlZG5cs6eAYbozjWxux5xDTmVTLLQqnSlkBjq2TPGC4FKEVaR8/s200/DSC00824.JPG" border="0" /></a>Look Ile! Today when i was standing outside I found a Daymoon and thought of you!<br /><br /><strong>Song of the Day:<br />"Summer of 69" - Brian Adams<br /></strong>I can't come home without thinking of this song. You see when I was 17 years old i was driving my car <span class="blsp-spelling-corrected" id="SPELLING_ERROR_5">across</span> the I-205 bridge (103mph) in a 55. I was not drunk, just a young person pushing the limits. Anyway.. I can't drive I-205 without thinking about that moment and this was the song that was playing on the radio when I was pulled over.<br /><object height="350" width="425"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xqcseze5mb4"><param name="wmode" value="transparent"><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xqcseze5mb4" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>Virtual Producer<br>Robert Rileyhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/06547924039219199136noreply@blogger.com5
